Religion, Spirituality, and Connecting with the Divine – Part 1 with Kaye Glennon – 5-30-15
May 8, 2015
This week we start a series of shows about the Spirit aspect of the Mind Body Spirit connection. We’ll explore the many ways that we connect to God, the Universe and Divine energy. With so many ways of defining and explaining our spiritual exploration, we’ll begin by developing a foundational understanding of some of the common concepts and terminology that will be a part of our conversation.
Some of the most basic ways that people connect to God and the Divine are through religious and spiritual practices. But what exactly is considered “religion” and “spirituality”, and what habits and processes are part of each of these? More importantly, what can we look for as clues to having a healthy relationship with our religion and spirituality? Our guest this week is a Pastor and teacher of religious studies and brings her extensive experience to this opening discussion.
Kaye Glennon is the Pastor and Spiritual Leader for the Sacred Journeys spiritual community in Racine, WI. She has a Master’s of Divinity degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Marquette University. She also teaches “Understandings of Religion” and “Spirit, God and Women”at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI.
